In many of the videos i have when i start playback or skip forward/backward the video plays in some kind of slowmotion for 5-10 seconds before it plays OK. Is there anything that i can do to avoid this? Didn't have this problem when i used MythTV, or when using mplayer. So maybe there is some setting in XBMC i have missed?
It could be something with the hardware decoder. If your CPU is powerful enough, you can turn off hardware decoding and just use software decoding, which might not have the issue. Go to
Settings/Videos/Playback (wiki) and turn off all the "Allow hardware acceleration" options and see if that works.
That didn't work. Disabled VDPAU/VAAPI and selected Software for render method.
It seems like the sound is OK but that video is slow motion for 5-10 seconds before playing in normal speed.
Are there issues with the playback? Could i supply a log to help find the problem?
