greetings!
i already did a search, but i seem to have a genuine problem...
i only get xbmc to run in 480i, which looks horrible with the x2vga adapter. the dashboard and games run fine in the hd modes, but the player wont... once i change the appearance settings from ntsc 4:3 to auto, i get a black screen. seems that xbmc crashes and i cant get it to run when i reboot. i have to change the cable and switch to ntsc 4:3 and then i get 480i again. could be a memory problem? what settings do i have to change? (i am using a fairly up to date build, the older one had the same problem ) please help!! :help:

i should add that i have only two options when changing the resolution settings: ntsc 4:3 and auto. of course only when i use the standard cable... when i use the hdtv cable everytime i change the resolution- crash. the log says:

i realize that the hdtv questions are asked very often... you must be sick of them. please give me a suggestion!
ps: i have tried to google the fatal error message. i found it but it was in swedish (or something like that) and didnt get a reply.
i am really at a loss here, what can i do?

1. xbox only supports hdtv (480p >) in ntsc, so set xbox to ntsc
2. you need to enable these modes (480p >) in mircosoft's dashboard
3. now you should be able to enable these modes in xbmc.

thanks for answering pike, but that is not the problem;
once i activate these modes, xbmx (with something else than ntsc 4:3 activated) wont run.... i know how to activate hd in the m$ dash (it works with the evoxdash and the games), but i have to deactivate it and use a non-hd cable so that xbmc doesn't try to run in hd modes (i suppose thats the prob) after it crashes. i can get it to run in 480i with the x2vga cable, but thats not what i want... i was so stoked about 720p support for dvd :verysad: i really did search the forum, but i still couldnt solve the problem. i changed every cache setting to 256k (like somebody suggested to a similar prob), no help. thanks for the answer, maybe i can give more input

i think i am getting closer to the problem:
while the dashboard loads in 480p, the apps do not. not only xbmc, but also the emulators. when i try to change them, xboyadvance crashes and hugo x does the same. so it might be
an evo-x problem that i have to deal with.
