Hi guys,

I'm new here, but have been using XBMC since the Xbox original days back to XBMP.

A friend of mine cut from me specific songs of a blu-ray disc, and right now I don't know which software he did the work with.

The problem is, when I play this video with XBMC, the sound is alright, without any choppiness, but the video is choppy and several frames are consistently dropped.

It doesn't show however any weird artifact or other weird behaviours.

I did some research here first, and the video is interlaced, and I read that the VDA decoder doesn't work with these, so it may explain why I get a ridiculous CPU usage (over 130 %) and the VCPU is capped at 99 % as well...

I then decided to disable the VDA decoder and try playing some blu-ray movies I ripped myself (full bitrate, uncompressed) with DVDfab, and they play fine without any hiccups, even when the VDA is disable.

So the CPU seems strong enough to decode by itself 1080p material.

Here is what media info as to say about the m2ts file giving me problems :

I did notice that with this m2ts, xbmc seem to try reaching 60 fps in opposition to a movie blu-ray rips which plays at 24 fps.

So it might the reason for the additional burden?

My question is, is it a question of settings in xbmc or my hardware isn't strong enough ?

I have a Macbook Pro late 2011 with an i7 2675QM @ 2.2 Ghz and an ATI Radeon 6750M 512 Mo GDDR5. (not relevant with VDA decoder off I suppose?)

I'm running XBMC on OSX Mountain Lion

Thank you
