Hi, Just installed XBMCbuntu on my laptop.
Made a user account with pasword.
XBMC now boots ok.

But when I want to go to ubuntu desktop to change my IP adres I can't login.

In XBMC I press the button left botom corner, and select EXIT in the box

Now I get a box with the name of my laptop.
The user I made during installation and a box for the password.

Using the user I made with the PW brings me back to XBMC

Clicking Other
then in the login Box XBMC with no password gives me 'Incorrect password, Please try again'
Also trying XBMCbuntu with no password gets me 'Incorrect password, Please try again'

Clicking the pulldown XBMC or XBMCbuntu wit no password give me the incorrect message again.
Also tried XBMC and XBMCbuntu as passwords gives me the incorrect message

Tried it on 2 computers. Once installed a 2 times via the LiveCD

Any ideas ??
Not surpriced if its an easy fix Smile

THX in advance for the answers !!
Welcome to the XBMC forums.

On the log-in screen, enter the username and password you had defined at setup. Click the arrow on the dropdown menu and select "XBMCbuntu" instead of "XBMC". Click Log-in. You should see the XBMCbuntu desktop.

When you wish to return to auto-login to the XBMC application, log-out of the XBMCbuntu desktop to display the log-in screen, and this time, select "XBMC" from the dropdown menu instead of "XBMCbuntu" (of course, enter your username/password).
THX that did it !! I thought it was something simple Smile
