Can this be done by apple tv or does it have to be done by computer. Where would I find the xml code to do with the skin I am using.

There are lots and lots....and lots of files.
Use
Cyberduck (wiki) to make an SFTP connection to the ATV and edit the files through it (or transfer the xml files to/from the computer through it).
