Yes it does, though I'm not sure which clients support them (other than xbmc).

I was interested in streaming to DLNA enabled TV's. I wonder if anyone has tried it and could advise any particular brand/model.
I'm only guessing but the LG TVs that support Plex might be the best bet.
For sure even XBMC client does not read external subtitles streamed by XBMC upnp server
