First of I have to say I love xbmc. I came from the boxeebox world and this is so much better. One area, though, that seems to keep giving me headaches is TV show scraping. I have several documentaries that refuse to scrape ( it seems no matter what I do), and simple things like The Office ( US version) keep showing up as the Swedish version. I have done a tree command to a txt file and will paste examples of some of the shows I am having issues with. The basic setup is a single folder on my NAS called TV and then all shows are under that in their own folders. So everything in the txt file is under a root folder called TV. Pardon the AAAA stuff, that is just the tree command showing spaces.

Not sure if the regexp will pickup SE01.E13. it really should be in standard SxxEyy format like the rest of your files in other shows. XBMC may get confused with the E01.E13 indicating it's episode 1 and 13 in the same file. That should solve your issue with Frozen Planet and The Universe.

What region do you have setup in XBMC? Try The Office (US) instead and try The Big C (2010)

Thank-you. I never noticed that about the nature docs...will give that a shot. My region for xbmc is US, I'm fairly sure. I'm at work right now and can't confirm, but I did have (US) in the folder name for the office but it still kept showing as (SE) so I changed it but it made no difference..

I made the suggested changes, no difference. The Big C does not make it to the library at all neither does The Office now, and the only documentary that does is Life, but again there are zero episodes listed.

This is so frustrating!

Any other tips from anyone please? This is driving me crazy.

Do a Debug Log while refreshing one of the shows. If you're frustrated, just imagine the folk that have zero information at all to go on :p

Notice the lack of <epnum> values. It could be that you have the scraper configured to use dvd instead of aired order or some such.

Regardless, please post Debug Log on pastebin.com or xbmclogs.com and link to it - it's much easier to read, and we can also confirm versioning and the like.

The episodes are being enumerated fine, so filenames are fine here.

For the universe, there's no hit on thetvdb - try manually searching for "Universe".

What build are you running? What settings have you configured in the scraper?

Just bumping this a bit, hoping maybe some one else might have some insight before it scrolls off into the nether regions of the forum.

If I were you I would have this sort of structure as it works perfectly for library mode and name the episodes like so too. You can even use therenamer to rename shows before adding it to xbmc and scraping in xbmc.

For reference sake below added Season 00 which is specials http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...7602&lid=8 just in case you have them

Another reference double/triple episodes of something in one file should be showname S02E01E02E03 Episode tittle


I use the renamer just to cleanup filenames and basically get everything looking clean and organized, works 99.999% of the time as long as the online databases have info.

Hers a example of settings that work very well

Thank-you, I will try that when I get home tonight.

I rdp'd to my htpc at lunch from the office, the renamer did a great job on some other tv shows i had, but it's not recognizing The Universe. I renamed them exactly according to your advice, but it still wants to call them Wonders of the Universe...is there a way with renamer to have it present multiple possible matches and you can choose the right one?

Do this in therenamer

1 - Start the renamer

2 - Press manual TV show scrapping (Bottom left) a popup menu opens.

3 - ON the ID code field enter: 80198 Don't navigate away just leave the pop up as is.

4 - Now just drag and drop all (The Universe) episodes you want to rename on therenamer window and double check as it should download all the proper info now



As long as the Series is named THE_UNIVERSE xbmc should do its job now.

Done?
