Hi folks,

I'm Tim from the netherlands and a new member and BIG fan now off Xbmc!
I'm a IT Specialist but never in my life i heard off Xbmc! i cant figure out why!
Because its freaking HOT!
My big hobby's are audio and movies!, and stil...just found 1 week ago from a friend this software!
First i would like to give all the people who put time in this great piece of software a big thumb!

Well then my question Smile..

Yes i know some of linux/debian/unix/windows because its my work but i dint get xbmc to work with my hardware right now. so i installed windows 7 pro 64bits and works fine but i dont get DTS HD Master.
Heres my hardware:

(temporary hardware dont have budget right now to buy a minipc).

Laptop Compaq CQ60204ED
CPU AMD ATHLON 2core 2ghz 64bits
GPU NVIDIA 8200M g
4GB ram
40GB SSD intel disk
Amplifier AVR: Harman Kardon AVR255 --> to Samsung led tv.

I tryed alot of versions of xbmc and right now i use the nightly build of 7 november 2012.

When i play a movie in Xbmc thats have DTS HD master i only see DTS in my AVR.
When i go to windows and setup the speakers in hdmi audio i setup the 7.1 speakers set.
But if i look what is supported i only see dolby digital in settings hdmi audio.

Strange thing also is when i use new Nvidia drivers i dont get HDMI to work anymore. no screen no audio.
For some reason alot of people have this problem with geforce 8200m G.
I managed to install some newer drivers of hmi audio but no DTS HD master in the AVR255.

What do i do wrong? is my hardware not suporting the DTS HD master and Truehd etc?
Or is it a driver thingy and you gonna give me a link what i can try? Smile

I read alot of pages but dont manage to get this to work.
I tryed also other output audio settings in Xbmc like wasapi? hdmi and directsound hdmi (wich is better?)

Sorry for my type mistakes Wink.

greetings,

Tim
o and if i test the 7.1 speakers all the speakers are responding in hdmi audio settings. (i have a 7.1 set)
Many of the nvidia GPUs does not support HD audio. May be that is the reason why you are not getting HD audio.
Hi Baijuxavior,

True but.... i do get dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1. If a play a movie (scfi movie 2012 for example) with DTS HD master i only receive DTS in my AVR255.
And thats strange, because maybe i'm wrong but i thought all the audio send direct into the AVR?
I'm going to test a movie with 7.1 (have to search one) but in the nvidia hdmi audio speaker settings i do hear all the 7.1 speakers.

If its a hardware thing then oke i can live with that for now, but i do hear alot of people talking about codes etc i thought maybe this is the case.

gr,

Tim
oke after some testing i tested a blueray Wink
When i choose HDMI in the movie i see in my AVR: DTS Master High but the video not good (framerate 5 a sec effect) i dont have audio also.
When i choose in the same movie analoge i have sound good framerate and my AVR says: Multi-CH PCM
When i choose Digital i got DTS sound in the AVR and good Framerate/video.

What can i do about this?
I'm not familiar with your GPU. You can give the bitstreaming version of XBMC in this thread- Windows How to Bitstreaming using XBMC.........
1st thing to do would be to make sure Windows is correctly configured.

If still not working after checking against that then you'll need to post a debug log refer to http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file and post it to one of the sites listed in Section 3.1 then provide a link here.
