Hi all,

this should be a more than answered question but I've made several searches without luck Sad

so I've a mac with x11 and a PC with xmbcbuntu installed, I can do ssh -X -Y [email protected]

there is any way to open a graphical user interface to manage the xmbcbuntu? move files arround.. without using shared folders?

I've tried this with no luck..

sudo startx

Fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0
If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock
and start again.
----------------

Can someone help? thanks in advance.

Hi uNi!

thank you for the quick reply! tonight I'll try it Smile

I think the only thing you need is Putty with enabled X11 forwarding:

Every launched GUI application will just show up on your mac. I always work remotely on my Linux systems using Putty and CygwinX on a Windows client.

EDIT: sorry, the link was for getting mac GUI to Windows. You might not need any additional tools. From a machine with an X server you can log in to a remote machine and forward X11.
