Full Version: Best IPTV backend for LiveTV

Hi all,
I am new to this PVR\XBMC world. I have some questions that I hope someone can help me with.

I have a IPTV service (not from the ISP provider, but more like tv over internett) that use http streams. I have used them almost everywhere, XBMC (livestreams, supertv, tvguide), dreambox, smartv.
They work fine, but I lack the EPG feature. The PVR part is not important.

Can I somehow use LiveTv in Frodo to watch my streams, with EPG? What backend should I use for this?

I currently only have Windows machines, TVHeadend only runs on linux? I've heard that tvheadend is best for iptv.
I have tried MediaPortal, it has support for IPTV streams, but only udp. no http streams, and no authentication.

Does anyone else use LiveTV for this purpose?

Thanks in advance

I've been able to watch my live TV streams through the PVR-Dummy or the PVR-Demo add-on. But unfortunately there has been any way to get EPG to run with those. I've only been able to do get Live streams AND epg through the TVGUIDE program add-onSad But obviously I would love to see this be integrated into the regular PVR section.
Yeah the regular pvr gui is better and the module seem very stable and fast.

Where can I get the PVR-dummy or PVR-demo addons for atv2 or windows xbmc (Frodo)?
Not sure about ATV but I got mine for Windows right here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=140148
Does anyone know how I can find the pvr.demo addon folder in the ATV2? (Frodo beta2). More specific the xml file that contains the "demo" channels. Can't seem to find it anywhere...
