I'm planning an Android-based XBMC box for my bedroom (i.e. pivos xios). There's no rush and I prefer to wait until these boxes and Android on XBMC mature. The main reasons for Android were price and simplicity. All I need is basic playback in my bedroom that'll play 1080p rips and live TV (backend PVR is on a separate media server).

BUT, this morning I saw this on slickdeals: http://www.slickdeals.net/f/5506292-BIOS...-AR-NewEgg

AMD E350 MB & CPU combo with 8 GB RAM for only $60. A basic mini-itx case & psu combo can be had for $35 and OpenElec will run off a spare flash drive. Total cost under $100.

I'm aware the CPU isn't the most powerful, but it seems enough for my needs. It's roughly the same price as an Android box. Are there any advantages of going with an Android box instead of this AMD combo?
I too am interested in this for a basic xbmc that could run openelec well. I would be interested in some input especially compared to spending a little more money and having a g550 celeron setup.

UPDATE. This one is also part of the deal on newegg and recently was reviewed by DougieFresh. Perhaps this might be a better option considering its celeron based.
