If your sound is solely through HDMI, you should disable the onboard Realtek audio completely in BIOS.

When I plugged the HTPC into the Pioneer LX-82 amp. Then there was an extra icon within the audio area listed as Pioneer LX82.
It then showed all the supported formats, DTS-HD and the rest are listed Big Grin
This is also listed as been part of the Intel HD audio.

Thanks for your help all !!
If all the hardwares support HD audio and you do as I suggested in post #11, there is no reason that it wouldn't work......I'm glad that you got it to work now....Nod

Thank you very much Smile much appreciated!!!!!

Really happy it's working.

Why - if HD Audio is working with the build you have. This is an old unsupported build and there is nothing to be gained by installing it. What build are you using at the moment?

Would I be able to link my HTPC up as follows...

DVI (converter to HDMI) to my Panasonic TV for watching normal TV channels etc.
HDMI out to my AV receiver for watching films?

This this work without hassle or will there need to be manual switching?
