Hello,

I have noticed this a little bit prior to using beta 1, actually, but I did not have the time or energy to report anything about it. It seems that XBMC in some cases causes the Mac OS X graphics driver to hang/crash, because the OS GUI is not responding at all when this issue occurs. However, using ssh to connect to the Mac Mini over the network works fine and when I then killed the XBMC process there was no change in what was displayed on the screen, XBMC was still "open" and I resorted to rebooting the system in order to get the Mac OS X GUI up and running again.

I don't really do much to make XBMC act up like this either, I use it one evening to watch some video's and when I'm done I turn the receiver and screen off while leaving the Mac Mini running with XBMC open. A night goes by, and the next day when I turn the receiver and screen back on I may find myself in front of a frozen GUI.

Each time it has happened so far, I have not had debug mode on, so I cannot give you that type of a logfile yet.

There is a AMD GPU in the Mini, and it's connected via HDMI to my receiver and running Mac OS X 10.8.2.

No, it does not. XBMC only slightly dim's the screen. Today the issue did not occur either, and then I am left wondering if it may have something to do with the type of video I play during the day. Perhaps it could also be related to my server adding new media to itself which also automates updating the XBMC database, which may well happen during the night. Kind of odd if a database update would freeze the graphics, though?

It seems I'm having the same problem. I'm quite new to xbmc... been using it for 2 weeks now, on a newly built hack. The system is rock stable, we're using it as an HTPC, but about every 4th day, XBMC freezes while playing a movie, system becomes unresponsive. When I ssh into the machine, XBMC and Windowserver are stuck. killing both XBMC and its helper process doesn't help. I have to reboot the machine. The machine sleeps during the night and day when not in use.
I will enable debug mode and report back next time it happens.

OK, the same problem occurred again today. My boys were watching a movie (.mp4) for about half an hour (full screen xbmc), then the screen froze, the audio continued, machine was unresponsive. I was able to ssh into the machine, again xbmc and xbmc helper processes were stuck.
