Greetings,

I have a complete season of a series which is all in .mkv containers. Most of them play, however I have one or two that will not. They play in VLC, but in XBMC Eden I don't even get a preview in the screenshot pane. Here is my log after trying to play the file: http://pastebin.com/CcNr30Uf

On another note, I have another .mkv that is in a source folder that doesn't show up in my XBMC file list at all. This also plays in VLC without issue.
Welcome to the XBMC forums.

You can try running mediainfo on one of the problematic files and posting the results here so someone can review it and spot any encoding issues.

Here's the download link for mediainfo: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en

Hope that's the info you're asking for.

Thanks
Located and downloaded the same file to test with, and I can confirm this even with Frodo beta.

Was able to play it with MPlayerX on Mac OS X.

I'm guessing OZC, the release group, did something stupid with their encoding settings, and XBMC is just more strict about it.

That's what I figured. Any thoughts on a work around, other than replacing the file with something from a different release?

Also, any thoughts about why my other .mkv doesn't show up in my source list?
