Full Version: Weird channel layouts

As an example, Edward Scissorhands has a layout that is front left, right, center, and rear center, which I call "3/1". In Windows with a normal media player, I can see if it's outputting the layout correctly via the pin information. I use WavPack. I am going to go with XBMCbuntu for an actual media player. Is there any way I can sniff what is going on to try and guarantee that it's taking the correct channel mask from the file and outputting it or mixing it correctly? It just shows that it's 4.0, which implies quadrophonic, but that's another issue of just needing more layouts added. I don't have a receiver, so I can't test this that way. That stuff is plans for the future, and right now I'm just trying to figure out what formats to use for the stuff I rip.
