I just did a complete hdd install of XBMCUbuntu 11.0 on a dell dimension 3100 I was using for XBMC Live previously. The install seemed to go fine but when I boot it up XBMC loads and just as the first bit of rss info is starting to come in on the ticker the screen freezes.
I can however still ssh into the box no problem and a quick run of top shows:
1272 xbmcuser 20 0 226m 39m 18m D 4 8.2 0:38.39 xbmc.bin
I also ran sudo killall -9 xbmc.bin which removes xbmc.bin from top so it appears to shut down but the screen on my tv does not change. It still shows the default skin with the ticker frozen just starting to creep in from the right side.
I thought killall would at least drop me out of the frozen xbmc screen. Any thoughts as to where I should look next to try to get this sorted out?
