If you want the easiest route, there are two barebones come to mind- MC101 Barebone (A8-4500M) and Intel DC3217IYE.....it should do everything in your list using Windows 7/8.....

use google, amazon, and newegg to search out component specs, find what you need, order, assemble, install, setup, connect, then enjoy

Shopping for individual component and build the entire HTPC from scratch....

Here is another option- "Shuttle xh61v and Intel Core i3-3225 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz".....

Did some research...

1-CPU:AMD A8-5600K APU 3.6Ghz Processor AD560KWOHJBOX
2-MTD: Dont know which one is good
3-SilverStone Aluminum/Steel Micro ATX Media Center/HTPC Case ML03B (Black)
4-PSU?
Take a look at my build,..I used that same case and have pictures that show the step-by-step progress as I assembled the build.

What software are you using and how did you configure it?

You have to be very careful selecting component for A8-5600K. It is a powerful 100W APU, and it'll consume a lot of power and generate a lot of heat. For HTPC, the 65W AMD A8-5500 is a better choice.....and everything I suggested above will fulfill all your playback needs too....

+1 A8-5500 or even A10-5700 is a better choice for a small case like the ML03 where you'll be limited in the height of the cooler you can use.

An ASUS A85X or Gigabyte A75/A85X motherboard will serve you well.
(2012-12-19, 23:55)AndoX Wrote: [ -> ]What MTD are you using with this CPU?
MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2.....

I use Windows 7 with XBMC Eden,...can't wait to see what the official Frodo release will be like.
I have Windows start right into XBMC.

For my family, the great thing about Windows is we can dump out of XBMC and use a computer if one of the other family ones are down or in use.
While I initially had all my movies stored on this machine,..I've since moved them to an unRaid server.

and whatever you do,.....DO NOT use Windows 8!
