Hello, hoping someone can help me here

I am using the stock Geniatech firmware which had XBMC Frodo 12.2 included.

I cannot seem to mark any video files on external storage as "watched" in XBMC (i.e. the tick does not appear next to the file name when I select 'mark as watched'). I have tried a usb hard drive and usb pen drives.

Mark as watched does work for streams though

Thanks for any help

I just attempted to "unbrick" my ATV1200 and followed the steps in the tutorial for flashing a new image and when I connect to the serial port all I get is this over and over again:

Any Idea what this means?? Am I screwed? Or did I hook it up wrong?
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to get the image back up and installed!!!! No more brick!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, I am trying to do the Linux install and when I follow the steps and put the files on the card (For fresh install) And hold down the reset button while I power it up it still loads android... Whats the deal?? I can't seem to get to the recovery page no matter what I do.
This is what I get a bunch of when I try to boot off a sd card:

Just a pink screen. And I get the same output even if the sd card is empty. Without the sd card I just get the No boot media detected or whatever that message is.
Has anybody tried Finless custom firmware which could be found here:

http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?9...ss-ROM-1-4

Should work with ATV1200 and should be the best of all!
That my friend was a good fined..looking forward to have a play with as time permits..
This should really get this box rocking also in the thread he talk about the 1080p kernel..we will have to hunt that down .

Great to have a developer working on these boxes now.. We may even see a 4.4 before we know it...

Yes it absolutly does work on the ATV1200. There's been a lot of hype about this rom so I tried it. Not so impressed. There are some cool customizations to the rom, but...I ran a benchmark performance test and the score was surprisingly low compared to the factory firmware. Plus the boot logo is too ugly to see everytime the box it reset. If you don't know how to change it, that alone might bug you out. I'm working on a custom rom myself based on some of finlessbob's work. For instance, removal of bloatware and separate secured directory for storing apks for optional installation rather than manditory. I'm thinking that bobs basically just trimmed the fat but didn't make any real tweaks to the firmware that would add to performance. None that I could find anyway. If anyone has any data to share on the performance of bob's rom compared to factory, or any additions that you would like to see please post.

To conclude, the rom works but as far as I can tell it is very bare bones with some cool features and no real performance enhancements. Just my humble opinion. Regardless, awesome contribution to the community.

Question.. Anyone have a GOTHAM nightly build version that has performed better than any other version of XBMC version on the ATV1200. It won't be long before Beta is ready but I'm not so patient. Wink

Great htpcforall..
It finally looks like developers are moving into to these box's which is good news..
Now only if Geniatech would release kernel sources and we would be going AOSP all the way..

As to Gotham builds I will get back to you on this as I did run a build for a few days but at the moment am on a an 12.0 build from may last year..but as I upgrade the main room HTPC to Win Gotham builds I will want to have this box running them too..

Look forward to running your work..pop me a pm if you want a tester .

Edit: loaded up the latest nightly...locked it into my MySQL setup and seems to be going fine...
I upgraded the database on the Win7 HTPC so now all tablets, Android TV box's and main htpc are running with it...still some tweaking to do but feels good..
Any of the gotham nightlies run better than 12.2.

I have been running the nightlies since December, all work well, but some people have issue if you have your files on a windows SMB share.

Neil
It appears DTS audio passthrough is not working on the latest nightlies, not sure when it broke, but am running 06/02/14 and it works fine.

No Help! Please! Headache lol!

Hi people, can somebody please help me...
I have 3 Sumvision Cyclone Android X2 boxes, I updated the firmware with the Geniatech firmware update. All 3 boxes where working great on XBMC, HD steams working fine, no faults at all then one by one they have a broken. All 3 boxes now are in the same state. I plug the power in and all I get is the Red standby light and the Green Android Logo on the TV. I cant get into the reset menu by pressing in the reset button at the back while plugging the power back in. From reading I believe the boxes are bricked? If someone could point me in the right direction for me to 'Un-Brick' my boxes that would be great

From reading I understand people have been able to do it, I am just not 100% on the way to do it. Do I need a TTL cable to connect it to a PC running XP, then make a boot card, and then... ?HuhHuhHuh

I would be grateful for a nudge in the right direction! Big Grin

Thanks in advance!

-------------------------------------
Edit: Sorted now, thanks anyway.
I just wanted to add some detail to this thread, with regards to the video resolution, it has been stated that the XBMC GUI is in 720p and any 1080p video will play in 1080p mode. This is not true, despite what XBMC FAQs states, if the android video resolution is set to 720p then everything plays at 720p, if android is set to 1080p then everything is played at 1080p or upscaled to 1080p.
