Hi
I have just install XBMC buntu on a 2006 mac mini (Not much use for anything else). When I connect the Mac to my PC screen via a DVI cable I get a picture. When I connect my Mac to my plasma via a DVI to HDMI cable I dont get any picture. Is this a driver issue? Can I load a new driver??
Oh yeah Mac has a Broadcom BCM970012 which is also not displayed in the settings video screen

Thanks

Alan
bad cable? as far as I know, DVI to HDMI should just work and not require any additional settings.
Yes DVI to HDMI works, because it´s digital.

But, and that is, what I don´t know at the moment, which DVI cabel do you use...there are different DVI´s

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If it is a DVI-I...this type has an analogue section, as shown in the wiki on the right side (the 4 points; 2 over and 2 under the "line"). If you´re using the analogue output of your mac mini (don´t know if it has one) you have to set it to the digital output because maybe your pc-monitor uses the analogue section of the dvi cable. Just a hint, not sure if this might solve the problem.

Perhaps it might be a bad cable. So you should try the working DVI cable with a DVI to HDMI adapter first, to see if this works.

A thing like this:

Don´t think this is driver related

Cheers and good luck
