If you want more horsepower than a XIOS or Raspberry Pi than you will probably need a proper HTPC. There a few different pre-build htpc boxes that are reasonably priced, quiet, and small. I am running a Zotac ID40 with openelec, a 8gb sd card, and an MCE remote and am very happy.
