What is the best way to update Edon to Frodo on an xbmc with stable releases
I'm guessing it's through the SSH, but don't know the procedure.

If you are referring to XBMCbuntu, you don't need to use SSH. You can simply switch over to the XBMCbuntu desktop, launch a terminal window and enter the necessary commands to upgrade XBMC to Frodo.
