Hi,
I've been trying to sort this out for a little while now and while I'm used to x.org bumblebee is all new to me.
I got myself a laptop, hoping I could use it partially as a mediacentre.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and I would like to run XBMC on the HDMI output while being able to use Ubuntu on the main screen.
Is this possible?
Regards.
It can't be done....Bumblebee, etc gives you OpenGL support (think games, Steam, etc) - but NO VDPAU (video hw acceleration).
Devs for Bumblebee seem less than interested in this either.

I bought an ultrabook with i5 + GT635M....the GPU is useless for XBMC since no way to turn off discrete graphics. Thankfully, the Intel HW acceleration - VAAPI - seems to work well so running XBMC with that.
Oh.. That sucks!
Could you perhaps link me to a how-to concerning Intel HW acceleration? I'm pretty sure my mainboard supports it. When running Windows there's someting called Intel HW Acceleration in the activity field at least. :-P
Should I uninstall bumblebee, all together? Isn't the HDMI output connected to the Nvidia graphics only?
Cheers.
Some good VAAPI info I found:
xbmc
sudo apt-get install python-software-properties pkg-config
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libva-intel-vaapi-driver i965-va-driver
sudo apt-get install xbmc
xbmc-vaapi

Sorry for the delay, haven't tried it out yet but I will this weekend!
Cheers.
Followed the guide and it works great!
I bow to you for showing me the guide! \o/

pingaan - good to hear.
Buyer beware for these Optimus laptops...I could've saved $100 for the non-GPU variant as well.
