Full Version: Video scrapper not scrapping rss source

Hi,

Using Frodo on ATV2, it seems it will not scrape a rss source.

The log output seems to indicate it does not exist:

23:38:37 T:130527232 WARNING: Process directory '<rss name>' does not exist - skipping scan.

I snipped out the rss path, but it does work as I can browse the rss source and files listed in it without issue via videos > files.

I notice these threads (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=147983 and http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=152499) talks about a similar issue for sftp sources, but not sure how to confirm if it's the same issue for RSS sources ?

Mike.
Welcome to the XBMC forums.

Those other threads you linked are talking about adding files from remote shares (file server, NAS, another PC in the house) to the library. If I understand you correctly, you are trying to add streaming content to your library; this is not possible to do within XBMC itself. You may want to look at this tool and see if it might do what you want: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=98210
If you have any questions about this tool, please ask on that thread.
Thanks for the welcome (recent convert from boxee!)

Correct, I am trying to add the streams the RSS feed I have has a source provides.. I assumed it was possible as XBMC let me add the rss as a source, set content, etc.. and just feel down when it tried to scrape (with the directory not found). I figured it could be like the sftp issue in other threads as sftp like rss is non standard (eg not a NAS, or local file etc).

That plugin could solve my problem nicely anyway, so thanks for pointing me in that direction.. and I guess if RSS is not suppose to be scrapped we can leave this issue, or maybe raise it as a bug to remove the option to be able to set content on RSS sources ?
