Hi,
Currently I am using XBMCLive updated to Eden. I would like to switch to Frodo and XBMCbuntu. My XBMC Live install is located on a USB drive and I use a live-rw file to save my changes.
Today I wanted to prepare a new USB drive and put XBMCbuntu on it and a new casper-rw file to have persistence. But it won't work My XBMCbuntu does not mount the casper-rw file.
First I tried the manual approach:
Then I tried unetbootin to create the persistence file. Same result. I also tried Lili and Universal-USB-Installer but nothing works.
The file is created but for an unknown reason it does not get mounted.
(I am using the XBMCbuntu 12 Nvidia/intel stable)
Can someone help me and put me back on the right track? I've been struggling all day with this problem and Google is not producing helpfull results

First I tried the manual approach:
Quote:dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/live-rw bs=1M count=3072and I added the "persistent option" behind "quiet splash". This used to work with XBMC Live. But not in XBMCbuntu...
mkfs.ext3 -F /mnt/live-rw
