hi all,
First off, I apologize for posting this slightly off-topic subject here. I tried posting in the "off-topic" subforum but was not allowed to.
my ATV2 started crashing for no apparent reasons, I would like to re-install xbmc from a clean slate.
My question is with regard to how to start with a clean slate ATV2 that is currently JB'ed (4.4.4). The last (and first) time I JB'ed any ATV2 was about a year ago so I am not familiar with the finer details anymore. From what I gathered, I can simply re-jailbreak and it would, in the process, installed an updated IOS and basically wipe-out everything. After which, I can re-install xbmc again.
my questions are:
1) if I do so, the ios will be updated. Is it possible to re-jailbreak while maintaining atv software version 4.4.4? I only use xbmc on ATV2.
2) is there any downside on re-jailbreaking it?
3) would re-jb update ios to verion 6 or 5.x?
any help is very much appreciated,
