Hi guys,

I am having lots of problem with buffering when trying to play back movies and tv shows. I have tried everything in threads suggested i.e. advancedsettings.xml, resetting modem, restarting apple tv, other connection methods etc

ATV2 5.0.2 (4250)
XBMC Frodo V12
Connection with SMBUp
Mac OS 10.8.2

ignore the afp errors in log, this was me just trying other ways to connect.

Any help or assistance would be appreciated.
Are you connected wired or through wifi? Is your content 1080p?
SMB is one of the slowest protocols. Do you have the option of trying NFS or FTP?
I am using wifi - content seams to stream ok through ITunes to Native Apple TV.

I am using SMB because it is the only protocol I seem to be able to get a successful connection with all the other protocols just fail to connect.
Definitely sounds like dodgy wifi to me - especially since other protocols just fall down. Your connection speeds are likely too low to maintain the connection. But it's easy enough to verify; connect a temporary cable to your machine. If the problem disappears, then you have identified your problem.
Thanks guys appreciate your input. It turns out nsviper was correct it was the protocol.

I downloaded NFSManager and managed to create an hfs share successfully.

Problem appears to be solved.
