Ok, I really need help. I am really interested in trying out XBMC and want to install it on my desktop first before attempting to build/buy a HTPC. I have not been able to successfully run xbmc 12 on this machine but I think it should be plenty capable. every time i atemp to run xbmc it locks up with a black screen and gives me an error "CApplication::Create() GUI failed". I have searched the forum and while many others have had this same problem, I have not been able to resolve my issue.

ASUS P8Z77-V LX
i5 3.4GHz CPU 64 bit
16GB Ram
running 32 bit Vista SP1
standard onboard VGA graphics (no card)
DirectX10
