When I press "get more", there is a huge list of channels in alphabetical order. Some of them have descriptions, but they are very short. How can I learn more about these channels without installing them first?

What channels are you referring to? If you are referring to what you'd asked in your other thread, then please read and heed the link I posted there with my reply. If you are referring to something entirely different, then please elaborate by telling us where in XBMC you are seeing these "channels". Thanks.

I think by "channels" they mean addons.
To answer your question, the descriptions are provided by the authors so you really won't find a better description. You can check the wiki for some additional info on certain addons, but not much: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Cat...ll_add-ons
