Hi all,
I have Advanced Launcher launching Firefox, but I get no audio in Firefox. I found this thread:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=158244
which makes reference to a patch that releases the lock on the audio device after 10 seconds of no audio from XBMC.
Where can I find this patch? Is there some other workaround?
Thanks,
Vandervecken
Try to disable menu sounds. And wait 10 seconds before you open the browser - that will work for sure.
For the other usecase with the Advanced Launcher plugin, please get me a xbmc.log with debugging turned on. If AE is not suspended, it can't work.
The link you gave makes a default device available via alsa, so that the external proggy knows where to play its audio.
From the original description the OP gave, i thought - he has evidence that AE blocks this device and everything is correctly configured on the user side.
I will be away from the system until Friday night. Thank you all for your attention and I will reply with an xbmc.log then. I turned off GUI sounds but it didn't help. Is the code that releases the audio device after 10s definitely in 12.1?
How do I check if AE is suspended?
I am not sure, that your device is still blocked - I rather think you "only no audio". That is a different problem, that rather goes into the direction @
Angelscry mentioned. The external program just does not know which sound device it should use.
You are correct. There was an audio issue in OpenBox which I solved, and now it works. Thanks!
