I am running 12.2 “Frodo” and experiencing issues when trying to fast forward in WMV (mms) streams. The video plays fine until I press fast forward a few times. At this point XBMC either interrupts the video, or crashes. Searching the forums, and bugs revealed that there was a similar problem a while ago and it has reportedly been fixed: "Seeking in MMS Streams doesn't work" http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/12167.

I've reproduced the problem with the same file referenced in the bug: mmsh://straumod.nrk.no/disk11/Supermorgen/2011-03-11/MSUS54000411AA-1Mbit.wmv?UseSilverlight=1

Does anyone else have problems trying to fast forward/skip (seek) WMV files?

There is now a bug open in ffmpeg: "mmsh seeking crashes ffmpeg" https://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/ticket/2581.

+1 on this problem - using brtv plugin

Currently running Eden to avoid this issue - anything after eden exposes this problem.

please register at ffmpegs bugtracker and upvote the bug - the better are the chances that it gets some attention from the devs sooner-ish
