So I had 2 devices in sync and thought I was in the home stretch as far as syncing goes. I went to add a 3rd device and copy/pasted advancedsettings.xml from my other setup into the pc. The pc also happened to use xbmc previously and in the process, I removed existing libraries. I lost my library across all computers and had to re-add my library which took a good 20 minutes.

I'm hoping I did something wrong on my 3rd device to cause me to lose the library and am hesitant to add my 4th device. Is this normal behavior or I most likely did something wrong? What are the steps to add a device w/o affecting the library? Here is how I plan on adding the 4th device:
  1. Install XBMC
  2. Copy/Paste advancedsettings.xml
  3. Will it auto recognize library or do I add/browse for the library?
That should work. Don't scan the library though on the new machine.
Yep.

Decide which of your machines will be your primary, and then all other boxes "feed" off the MySQL DB.

My main is a win67 64 bit box, then I have another win 7, three Pivos Xios DX's, and an iPad gen 1.

I make changes and scan only on the main.

(why yes, I do miss my old XBOX Media Center... it was a simpler time.)
