Full Version: [solved] How to tune in open internet streams

Hi everyone,
currently I'm watching open internet streams (rtsp, m3u8) via strm files. I was wondering if and how it could be possible to tune into open http streams form the live-tv function of XBMC rather than playlist files. Is there a backend with support for this? Or can I programme open http streams directly into live-tv?
The "simple IPTV" addon can do what you want, at least it handles udp:// and http:// streams. I use it for some Swedish TV channels myself. You'd have to get the EPG data in XMLTV format from elsewhere.
Sorry negge, but where do I find this addon? I looked into my addons and couldn't find it.
And could you please send me the addresses for the Swedish channels? That would be very nice!
Greetings from Germany to Finland. Smile

Notes:

- the "tvg-logo" directive doesn't actually work, you'll have to specify channel icons in XBMC
- you'll need to get EPG data using xmltv
- the streams only work inside Sweden
Works great! Thanks negge!!!

Unfortunately something has gone missing in your post about the channel entry.
Sorry for the screw up, I use deep packet inspection in my router to route traffic matching a certain pattern through a computer in Sweden in order to watch those streams, so when I hit the reply button my source address changed mid-request, that's why the message got cut off. Had to log in remotely to work to update this post and now I can't read this thread from home without breaking the whole forum for myself.
