mac mini running 10.8.4

cant run a debug log because i can't open the program at all.
I just clean installed 12.2 on my mini. as soon as i open it from the applications folder (or from desktop; tried installing to there too just in case....) the icon bounces in the dock once or twice, then closes. no window is opening or anything. tried deleting and redownloading. no luck.
any help greatly appreciated!
