In XBMC, I've noticed quite often that my music artist artwork is incorrect. Take the following screenshot for example:



The artist is Minor Threat, but the photo is one of Mac Demarco (whose music is also in my collection).

Upon inspecting the mysql db that xbmc uses, we see the following values in the artistinfo table for the row with the idArtist of Minor Threat:

strImage

strFanart

All of these images are of Minor Threat, not of Mac Demarco.

So, why is XBMC showing a photo of mac demarco for minor threat?

Is there a way of fixing this? I tried removing the local cache in userdata/Thumbnails but then everything went completely blank, so I restored it. What should I do?

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Bumping this in desperation

There are a number of threads discussing artist art issues, try reading through some of those for ideas. Some things you could try;

1. You could try deleting the information for those artist in the database, and the re-scraping.
2) Place your own fanart and thumbs in your artist folder and add an .nfo file for the artist (see wiki)
3) Navigate to the artist menu of the library. Update all artists
4) Navigate to artist menu, select "artist info" in context menu for an artist, use get thumbnail and get fanart features.
5) Double check tagging names for conflicted artists. Make sure "album artist" is filled same as "artist". Clean DB and re-scrape.
