Hey.

I recently installed xbmc 12.2 on my galaxy s4 and whenever I play video files through it, the audio is all crackly and distorted.
I've tried reinstalling and playing around with the audio settings, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Here's the log. I hope I did it right. Please let me know if you need me to redo it. I just enabled debugging mode, played a video, then emailed the log.

Any ideas from the log?

From your log you appear to have a AV-receiver hooked up to your samsung, or do you have another reason for enabling all the passthrough modes ?

I'm not sure. that's literally after a fresh install :S.
What should i turn off?

Just check all your audio settings. You most likely only have stereo audio on that phone, so do not select any 'capable receiver' options.
This should not be selected by default.

Where did you download the android version of XBMC ?

Try the following:

Audio output: Analog
Speaker configuration: 2.0
Audio output device: android - audiotrack (according to log only 1 device present so chose from)

When ever I open a video (online or on my system) the audio is crackly and distorted. Tried playing arround with the audio settings ... no luck
While on my iphone 4 every thing is working amazingly ...

Please find me a solution

Hi Guys.

I am having the same problem with my S4 (I9500)... Looks like this is an S4 specific issue - multiple people are experiencing this issue on the S4 now.

Please could someone shed some light on to what else we could try to get this working properly.

Have either of you tried the settings I posted?

Change audio settings to 2.0 and Analog. Make sure all "capable receiver" options are unchecked.

Merged the 2 threads and moved them to Android support

I'm sorry for my mistake ... jjd-uk I tried your way but no luck ... still same problem I think it's a problem with the galaxy s4 i9500 ... I tried it on another phone not rooted and on stock rom ... giving same issue
