Everything works really nice now that i have it all set up, except that the EPG menu overlay runs horribly slow, takes about a 30seconds to move one up or down on the menu, but pressing ok to watch a channel is instant. Is there something i may have turned on which is making it super slow?
running on xbmcuntu gotham, and PTVL development branch 5.5

Dec64 - this is an issue - luna has fixed this in future dev builds I believe.
Sweet thanks Bry, PTVL is really on point these days. Hopefully the reminder feature is expanded to a series link style reminder that can always tell you when that program is on in the future like commercial tv boxes.

As bry said this issue was fixed, I just didn't push code yet.
For the reminder, the problem is that every other channel other than "LiveTV" can be queued at anytime. Meaning if you are watching a local, youtube, etc... channel and something is on a few hours from now, you can always select and start it... but livetv you need to wait.
So a reminder for anything but livetv seems pointless, no? If you think i'm wrong let me know... I'd like to hear opposing viewpoints.

I think it could serve a purpose. PTVL isn't designed as an "on-demand" interface by nature...it gives that live TV feel to on-demand content. Just like you include BCT's, reminders could enhance the feel.
My 2¢

Okay maybe a dialog box that says "would you like to watch now or set reminder?"

I'd vote for that. Functional yet non-intrusive. Perhaps a settings toggle for default usage? That way you don't have to choose each time as well. "Always set Reminder | Always watch now | Ask each time"?

okay, sounds fine to me... i'll try and include it with tonights update...
Is there any way you can get PTVL to intercept the stop button and either prevent it or make it just reload the same channel?
Right now it kicks me back to to the home screen in a strange state.

Sounds perfect, good point tho, I do often forget that my usage of PTVL is properly not the most frequent use. I have 60% of channels that are live. I just assumed if people didn't want a heavy amount of live channels they wouldn't have switched to PTVL.
But since PTVL is just better all round now it does make sense.
Does not work on android!! Period!! I have tried this for the last year on every update!every update its worst on android!

Thats funny im currently running it on my Fire TV. Did you change the settings to Android instead of Windows? Did you make sure it installed all dependencies?

I had this idea as well. Sometimes a channel fails and then PTVL breaks itself if it cannot recover. This may be fixed in a later release tho.
