I actually just upgraded to Helix and PTVL 5.6d this morning before work and wasn't able to launch PTVL at all (got script failed errors right off the bat after the update)
As a quick fix, I downgraded PTVL back to stable-master 5.6 and that version seems to work fine on Helix.
I didnt have time to post a log before I had to leave, but I'll do that when I get home.
There's a new dependency in 5.6d so if you just did the update without installing the new dependency you'll get the script failure right off the bat like that. You need to install script.module.buggalo as well (link on Page 1).
Hello Forum..
I want to say thank you for this XBMC Add-On.. I've got it working and it's quite arguably, THE BEST ADD-ON for XBMC. That being said, I want to point out that I have not been able to get this Add-On to work with the new Helix Kodi update. To be more specific; with Helix installed, I cannot get channels to load through Auto tune on either of my HTPC's. If interested, the specs of my machines are referenced in my sig. So, to get the add-on working I had to restore both of my machines back to XBMC Gotham stable. I have not had time to do much reading or troubleshooting yet, but I have read a bit and saw that some users are stating PTVL is not yet supported on Helix. No matter, as I'm coming from XBMC 11 Eden hesitant to upgrade because I have been a regular user of the OG PsuedoTV add-on.. Any comments or information on how to get PTVL to work on Helix would be greatly appreciated!!

Did you install all of the dependencies found on page 1? What errors are you getting? What media are you trying to autotune? Post a log?

Obviously!!
(2014-12-30, 02:41)Kalebbroo Wrote: [ -> ]What media are you trying to autotune?
Local media from unRAID NAS (M2TS, AVI, MP4, MKV) mostly movies and TV shows
(2014-12-30, 02:41)Kalebbroo Wrote: [ -> ]What errors are you getting?
Something referencing "AlarmClock0" & ultimately after 100% scan "No Channels Created".. for some reason no media is parsed from USTVnow, local media, YouTube, or RSS resources
(2014-12-30, 02:41)Kalebbroo Wrote: [ -> ]Post a log?
I didn't generate a log as I just tried a previous version of XBMC using the same set-up and settings used when I tried on Helix and all worked out just fine. If I have time, I will try Helix again this weekend and generate a log then. Thanks for the response!

(2014-12-27, 22:26)Marshall Wrote: [ -> ]Yeah... I'm not totally sure how PTVL works with that file, but *I think* the problem might be it reads it all into memory and if something goes wrong before it gets to dump the channels from memory back to the configuration file you end up with a blank or messed up configuration.
It sure would be nice if you could restore that file from the PTVL settings. That would be a nice feature... a button that says restore my channels from settings2.BAK and maybe even an option to select the path to settings2.BAK
It seems the backup settings file that PTVL makes is getting wiped along with the active settings2 file - I haven't had much success relying on that. Like the others who've replied, your best bet at this point is to keep plenty of backup copies of it around. I have around 100 channels built that point to smart playlists, and redoing that every time got old fast. I need to get around to renaming all my smart playlists to the convention PTVL likes so they will auto tune.
It's definitely one of the more fragile aspects of this great program. I've taken to keeping a fresh copy of settings2 on the desktop of my HTPC, and a shortcut to the folder where it normally resides, so I can just drop it in and do a rescan after PTVL wipes it. (which does seem to be more often since moving to Kodi, at least for me - YMMV). I'm also using Tromy's Titan skin for PTVL, which may need updating for Kodi.
Speaking of PTVL skins, I've been working on some decent EPG channel icons for my custom playlists, they're sized at 270 x 83 to fit nicely with Tromy's Titian skins, you can find them here if there are any to folks' tastes..

Nice work! @

As for the custom skins there will be an update soon!

Not a big deal, the only issue I saw was that the PTVL sidebar gets stuck on, but I just changed the visibility to false in the TV overlay file in the skin for now...
I'm on 0.5.6 and Force Channel Reset isn't working for me. Anyway to figure out why? I select it and hit OK then go back and start PTVL and it flies through all the channels without resetting and starts up (with the short intro video)
Hey luna since updating I noticed that the video window patcher isn't working even after rebooting kodi and my computer. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Unfortunately, I have to second that.
After the auto-update to 0.5.7 this morning, I'm getting "script failed!: PseudoTV Live".
I tried several things in attempt to fix this error myself; none of which worked to resolve the problem.
What I tried:
1. Rebooting the machine.
2. Clearing the cache through addon settings, restarting.
3. Uninstalling the addon, and reinstalling via TVAddons addon installer.
4. Deleting the addon, and addon data, and reinstalling via the TVAddons addon installer.
None of these woked to get the addon up and running. This system is an X86 install of Openelec.
I tried on a different beefier system, Windows version, and experienced the same problems.
Below are the log files for each system, please advise, and let me know if you need any further information.

Looks like you have the same problem that was posted here ...

I also had this problem. I copied the language.py script from another machine over to this addon folder to fix it.
