Hi all,
I love PseudoTV Live, I have 5 FireTVs/Sticks with SPMC and they all have PTVL on them. I'm currently on a trip away from home and I have a hard drive hooked up to the FireTV. I started from scratch and SPMC scraped all the media on the external HD. I wanted to use PTVL but for some reason I keep getting "Unable to populate channels. Please verify that you have scraped media in your library and that you have properly configured channels.". On a previous trip I had no problems using the external HD but now I do. I originally tried using the most current PTVL (0.5.7d) with the most current SPMC(13.4) and that did not work. I wiped out SPMC and installed 13.3.3 with PTVL (0.5.7d) still no go. Then I went back to SPMC 13.3.3 with PTVL 0.5.7c which worked previously and still nothing. I've been at this for 3 days and I can't figure out whats going on. From looking at the logs it seems that the playlists get created but the m3u files are only 8bytes so some things not right.

Hey, I asked a question earlier about manually adding streams to PTVL. I also notice that when I run the auto channel wizard, even though I have selected to grab channels from addons, it does not grab any channels from my addons.... Just Youtube.
I have USTV VoD (formerly Free Cable) but PTVL doesn't grab a single thing from that addon. Is there a trick?
I love this addon, really. One question, can i add live-tv from my vu+/enigma2 plugin into pseudolive ?

I've also tried "/HGTV/Full Episodes/" and "HGTV/FullEpisodes"...I'm just trying what I can think of and every time I just get the top directory which is netflix/mylist. where have I gone wrong?
Sorry to quote myself here, just wanted to re-confirm that this does appear to be broken. I can add a log if you'd like, but I tried adding the exact example from the OP for hulu feature films and got the same netflix my list and then tried a fresh settings2 autotune with my playon things and it only created 2 channels: netflix my list and netflix recently added...both of which had the Exact same channel lineup, so I'm guessing recently added was just pulling in my list too and not in the most recent order.
Is there a good guide for manually creating channels? I am having zero luck getting autotune to work. Nothing I've done has stopped it from hanging up around channels 5-10. Really, all I want it to do is create basic channels for movie genre. That shouldn't be too difficult.
Getting hammered over here as usual, the busiest man alive.

Look at
Page 1 of this thread. There are excellent templates for the different chtypes. It just involves editing settings2.xml manually.
I would also recommend starting by going into the PTVL settings within XBMC and using the channel configuration tool to set up any channels based on the local content in your library.
Then exit PTVL and start editing settings2.xml manually to add your live/internet channels using the templates provided on the first page of the thread.
The first three posts are very detailed and (for the most part) provide everything you need to get a working configuration.
There is also a setting in PTVL that allows you to partition auto-tune channels to a specific channel range (500-999 I think), which allows you to auto-tune down the road without losing your manually configured channels.
You can also take a look at the community list xmls (follow the link on the first page), for ideas of sources you may like, even if you don't plan on using autotune.

EDIT: Just saw your mention of movie genres. I assume this is for local content. If so, create a smart movie playlist for that genre in XBMC/Kodi (see
Milkman's guide -linked on page 1- for more details) and then use the channel configuration tool under PTVL's settings to create a smart playlist type channel. Bada bing!

Actually, I've followed the instructions in the OP to make custom channels in pseudotv live using smart playlists to create 'Channel_1' but it doesn't seem to work. When I go into the channel configuration, under 'custom playlists', there's no option to select my own playlists so I can't seem to get Movies to work in this
What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, there should be an option there but it's not. Try using the channel configuration tool for Windows

Are there loading time differences between Network Channels, Playlist Channels, and Directory Channels? If so, what are the differences?
Are there any recommended limits for size of a playlist or directory?
I'm asking for two reasons. One is I'd like to switch my network channels to playlist channels, so I can stop manually editing each tv show .nfo file and have be automatically part of a playlist. Two is that I noticed dramatic slowdowns when I go to my Music Video channels on my EPG (which are directory channels).
Has anyone been able to use PseudoTV Live with an external hard drive? I just wiped my FireTV reset it as if it was from Amazon and I still get the:

I notices that the m3u files are only 8 bytes for the local media but youtube and others streams are 2+Kb.
