Full Version: XBMC master and xbmc clients with library via UPNP

Hi,

I have a primary or master XBMC box setup, on which I have tuned my video library (fine tuned the whole library, manually added metadata where needed, etc...)

Part of the media files are stored on that master, part is stored on nas.

I would like to add a few extra xbmc's as clients (an older box, or maybe even a Rasp.Pi)
and of course use UPNP to share the libraries from the "master"
Now the question, can a UPNP xbmc client, write (mess up) the library, or is that read-only?
(I would like it to be read only)

Thanks

L.
XBMC v12.2 and earlier will be totally read only. Nightly/monthly builds and future v13 will let the clients update watched status and resume points, but that's it. It shouldn't touch the metadata.
