First, I do not have the 'Shutdown Function Timer' On.

When I am sitting on the xbmc main menu and doing nothing for 3 or 5 minutes, I drop out to the AppleTV menu.

If I am doing anything like playing media, scanning library, or pressing the remote this does not happen.

I also can not log the event since the this recording also prevents the failure.
then post the non-debug xbmc.log file at least (patebin.com and put the link in here).
OK, seems like the crash only happens during sessions when the "Auto Library Update" plug-in program runs.
And I see in the log that SAMBA is being called.
Memphiz had me remove my SMB sources to fix another problem caused my old version of iOS.

I can't find what is still calling SMB.
Under Videos - Files; I have three entries each which one source which is NFS.

I imagine the problem is because of SAMBA, but where should I look to turn it off?

My log - Think SMB is causing the crash
I bet there are some samba pathes in your library ... trying to clean the lib would most likly crash too cause it would try to access the samba path again ... if it is an option you should start over with a new db ...
I am having a similar issue, dropping out randomly. I see a similar error as to what you had mentioned. Any Idea what could be causing this? What do I do to fix it?

Post full debug log (wiki) (via paste site) and we can tell you which DB file needs to be reset.
And that problem is totally unrelated to the initial one ...

To do that, I just delete "MyVideos75.db" ?
Or move away for having a Backup - yeah
Hey guys, since updating to Frodo 12.2 my ATV is doing the same. Crashing when not viewing a video. I've tried disabling thumbnails, removing old database, disabling all possible add-ons.

Please take a look.

I had the same type of problem earlier and for me it stopped when i disabled an addon called watchdog.
ios 4.2.1 is the problem here. Either don't use smb (same for mysql) or you need to update to at least ios 4.3 iirc.

I didn't have this problem on 12.1.

I don't know how to upgrade to 4.3 without SHSH blobs =/
Sure you didn't have this problem with 12.1 ... it was built against 4.2 sdk ... current nightlies/gotham is built against 4.3 sdk ...

That makes sense. I downgraded to 12.1 and the reboots stopped.

Is it possible to upgrade to 4.3 now since Apple is no longer signing that version? Seems like SHSH blobs are a requirement.
