I had trouble installing XBMC on PC running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid.

I added a repository "ppa:nathan-renniewaldock/xbmc-nightly" and dpkg -installed the following .deb built files)

libtag1-dev_1.8-1~ppa3~lucid_i386.deb (94.3 KiB)
libtag1-doc_1.8-1~ppa3~lucid_all.deb (5.1 KiB)
libtag1-vanilla_1.8-1~ppa3~lucid_i386.deb (311.6 KiB)
libtag1c2a_1.8-1~ppa3~lucid_i386.deb (2.9 KiB)
libtagc0-dev_1.8-1~ppa3~lucid_i386.deb (3.9 KiB)
libtagc0_1.8-1~ppa3~lucid_i386.deb (8.6 KiB)

I now have............

1. XBMC running.
2. Added a video source. Protocol Tuxbox Etc and network details.
Now I'm a bit stuck.
I think I have to add an VU+ addon....... I can't find it on any of the screens.
I have tried to enable liveTV but XBMC reports I don't have a pvr configured.
Please can somebody give me a few pointers, I'm going around in circles!
TIA
try to install
plugin.video.tuxbox-v0.0.4.zip

this plugin is better than Vu+ addon
Thanks,

I have the four files extracted ...... this is my first time with XBMC so I don't know where I'm going?

Do I put them somwhere or what?

Thanks again.
You don't need to extract the zip file,
Just put it somewere in your drive
Then go to
System / Settings / Addons in the main page of XBMC
and do an "install from zip file"
and show the path to the zip file

and that 's up !
Opps I missed the install video ............. got it now thanks
Is the plugin.video.tuxbox-v0.0.4.zip also better or using it with a Dreambox (7025+)?

XMBC reads after every start the folders of the PVR -> the DM starts the internal HDD and with the VU+ Addon I didn't find any way to disable this...
