My xbmc was working beautifully under Ubuntu 12.04 and I decided (against my better judgement) to upgradet to Ubuntu 13.04. Everything seems to work as normal....except for the following...which I think has to do with the library.

a) on the xbmc server I cannot find the playlists...I can play various albums and various genres, but no play lists.
b) on my remote pc I can see the playlists...but they are empty. I cannot call up any artists or albums. But if I start off a song or a genre from the server, I can stop it and start it and see what it is on the remote (Firefox AWX)...though there is a lot of information missing, e.g. Album and Artist.
c) on my android phone, I just get Null Point Exception....It cannot find anything or control anything. Before the upgrade, I could use the official xbmc remote on my phone to control the server and to see what was playing etc.

It is xbmc 12.2 stable Git 32b1a5e
Is there a way for me to reset the library or to get it to work?
Post a debug log.
Somebody help please?
Hi, could somebody please help me out here or point me in the right direction....what more information do I need to gather?
Can somebody point me in the right direction to start the library please. Surely somebody must know...what am I doing wrong? Take pity on a suffering newbie! Smile
Can somebody help me please to get my library functioning!
1. The links to your logs don't work.

2. You can't bump your own threads this fast without breaking the forum rules.

3. You could try removing your "MyVideosXX.db" files from ~/.xbmc/userdata (make sure you back them up first), that way you'll be able to start over with your library and things will most likely work just fine.
Actually, dunbrokin did wait at least 24 hours between "bumps", so he's OK there. Smile. But you're right about his links being bad.
Hi, I am posting here because I did not get a single answer or suggestion on the Linux specific forum. Hopefully I will have better luck here!

Your debug xbmc.old.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=35541
Your XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=35542
Please don't cross-post. I've merged your two threads and placed the combined thread here for greater visibility. As noted in previous replies to your original thread, your log links are invalid. Please verify and post new links for your logs. Thanks.

1. Hmm, they did when I posted them...not sure what went wrong...will post new ones

3. That did not work....so I will run a debug and post the files later..
Your debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=38843
Your debug xbmc.old.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=38844
Your XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=38845

I have checked all three of these logs and they work as of Jul 23 2013
That's a standard log, not a debug log. You need to enable debugging first.

xbmc.log Wrote:ERROR: Error loading Smart playlist special://profile/PartyMode.xsp (failed to read file)

Is that the playlist that doesn't work? Have you tried removing the file and recreating the playlist? Hopefully a debug log will tell us more about what's wrong.
