I was looking through a few skins (Amber, Confluence, Confluence Modified, xTV-SAF) and noticed most still show the CPU %, which I recall was recommended to be removed as it loads the CPU, making the readout meaningless.
However, with Confluence, which doesn't show it, the CPU as shown by the debug OSD was still high, around 86%. On the other hand, with xTV-SAF which does show it, the usage was much lower, around 45%, so it seems the CPU % display isn't really that important. xTV-SAF gives the lowest CPU % on Home for me as well, around 45-50%, whereas other skins tend to be at least 68% and even into the 80-90% range sometimes.
