(2014-03-24, 18:12)CypherSteel Wrote: [ -> ]So I successfully updated the firmware (thanks guys!) and have another question: I've got it to stream from my video folder on my computer to xmbc. And I've got a usb drive attached with videos/music etc. So....how can I set things up so I can see the USB drive(in the living room) on my computer(in the office) and delete/add files? Having to run back and forth with the drive is a pain...

I'm assuming you have shared on a Windows box. In Android/Linux/etc it's called Samba (https://www.samba.org/), it's basically an open source project that allows other OS's to connect to Windows Shares.

Install ES File Explorer from the Play Store:

Hi, yes windows 7 64 bit.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your question. Are you asking how to share the files on your Windows 7 and see them over the network on your Android box in XBMC?

Nope. Reverse Smile What I meant was I want to be able to hook up my usb drive to the media box and from my desktop see/add/delete files and folders.
I know some of the firmwares ship with an application that would do Samba file sharing. But, I don't see it in the fimware I'm running.

But here give this one a try, install this app from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...resh.samba

Then from your windows machine run Windows Explorer and type \\AndroidMachine\share in the address bar.

Thanks in advance
Curious can MyGica devices be flashed with OpeneElec or Ubuntu?

I'm considering the ATV580. The specs look nice and on paper will serve to be pretty good Linux machine.
There is a Linux firmware for the ATV520.

If you want to go the linux route go with a Raspberry Pi or Odroid. They have a larger community, will be maintained (more frequent updates), and you won't risk bricking your machine by flashing firmware.

I have an ATV520 and a Raspberry Pi. The raspberry pi plays everything in XBMC and I do have some cron jobs scheduled to do other things. I bought the ATV520 for one of my other TV's because I wanted XBMC plus some other android apps.

That's just my opinion.

Install airdroid on your atv520. It should give you access to everything and more on your little TV box thru your PC. You could also set up a simple FTP server on your android phone and drag/drop files from your windows machine that way. See http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-...id-server/

Any news update? thanks.
I've talked with support and they are within the next couple weeks updating to Android 4.2. The more recent KitKat (4.4) will be solely for their quad core version. I'll have to try the airdroid.

EDIT: Yup it works, just wish it would give me a folder view rather than all the videos at once. Thanks Saddie!

Glad to hear it works! Thanks for letting us know. A small FTP server running on your android box would work would give you a folder view and work solidly. See https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai....FTPServer

You could also set up a samba server on your android box and connect easily using your laptop too. See https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...resh.samba

Out of these I'd go with the FTP just because it's been around longest, is so easy to set up, and you're least likely to get any bugs. But both should be more lightweight vs the airdroid app, which does a ton of other stuff you're probably not using. Now pat yourself on the back that you didn't buy something running iOSTongue

EDIT: a good open source FTP program is filezilla, or I think windows explorer does FTP too.

And also, you said Geniatech is releasing Android 4.2 for the atv520? Is this true?
I don't think I'll apply 4.2. I really don't see any need to right now. The Geniatech 4.1.2 build is a little buggy in some places, but it's not unbearable.
Hi guys, there's this thing that's been bugging me for a while.

I have the mygica atv520E with latest firmware(20130920) and xbmc Gotham 13.0 BETA, and every time I play a 720p/1080p file, the audio/image are never synchronised. So I have to use the audio offset option, and I always offset it by -0.300ms and it works every time, so it's a consistent value.

I've tried different xbmc versions(only after Gotham 13.0) and a previous firmware version and this still happened.

Anyone else experiencing this?!?!

Cheers,
Verymau
Can anyone point me in the right direction for some tv channels and movie streaming on XBMC on the 520E? I have it working wonderfully with my linux server hosting all my audio and video, but can't seem to find a good source for the aforementioned. Thanks in advance!
