Hey all,
I got some problems to connect to my xmbcbuntu using my hostname, and would definitely use some help.
Basically, I use dhcp on my local network, so for convenience I'd like to be able to ping/connect to my xbmc using his hostname.
Samba is installed, so is winbind (nsswitch.conf modified too). I also have a hostname file, and the 127.0.1.1 line is present in my /etc/hosts.
The thing is, if I connect to my session using the xmbcbuntu environment, then I can successfully ping and connect to ssh by hotsname using another ubuntu.
But if i use my proper xbmc session, then none of this is possible any more.
I tried to ping both my HOSTNAME, and also HOSTNAME.local without sucess.
Is there anything obvious I missed?
Thanks!
