Hello everyone,

I purchased an Asus eb1030 to run XBMC on and learn some Linux at the same time. It is running Ubuntu 12.04 and admittedly I am very new to Linux.

I installed XBMC, but when I Try to open it I get "XBMC needs hardware accelerated OpenGL rendering. Install an appropriate graphics driver."

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Bump; can anyone please help? Will I need to install windows?
You just need to install a graphics driver for your hardware. It's probably using a generic one by default, and just needs a specific one. Ubuntu is pretty good about detecting and installing that kind of stuff through the GUI.

Another option is OpenELEC (wiki), which can be a little easier for people who don't know much about linux, but both will work on your hardware.
