Hey guys,

I want to stream videos from my PC to my XBMC (raspbmc) but my router w/ internet is too far from my PC and XBMC . Can I buy a second router and put it near my PC and XBMC and not connect internet to it but still stream videos from my PC to the XBMC? Basically I want to stream videos over LAN / intranet using a new router WITHOUT connecting that router to the internet. Is this possible? Thanks
Yes. You just use the router as you normally would, and a local network would be established.
You technically don't need a router in this case, just a switch will do.

Most routers are actually a combination of router+switch, so if you have a route laying around you can use that.
If you have to go out to buy one, just buy a switch - it is cheaper Smile
<smartarse>You technically just need a patch cable.</smartarse> Wink

Unless the pc's also connected to something else.
Thanks guys. What a great forum.
