I am trying to use VNC to get into my XBMC PC. but whenever I get into the pc and launch XBMC or bring it to the foreground all I get is a black screen.. is anyone doing this successfully and did you need to use any special settings in the VNC server/client?
I get the same thing... I think its to do with xbmc being a full screen 3d application. You could try running g xbmc as a full screen window.
I can't explain why, but you can't view full screen video apps like XBMC with VNC. I don't think there is a solution except finding another tool.
If you know the keyboard shortcuts, you can still exit XBMC from VNC (Ctrl-x , end or ctrl-end), and then you can work from the windows desktop.
You can also take it out of full-screen mode with Alt-Enter.
