I can not get MKVs to play on my 2013 nexus 7. I've tried running several versions of xbmc with no luck. When i try and play an MKV i get audio but no video. any advice?

try MediaCodec, it's in the nighties now.

what is MediaCodec? How do i use this in XBMC? I'm using builds from here:

Those are the ones, and in theory it should work out-of-the-box.

I've been considering the N7 2013 tablet recently, but mkv support is extremely important to me.
I've been trying to find more info, but it's sparse.

How is everyone getting along with N7 2013 running XBMC? I've heard many problems WRT the audio crackling issue.
