Are there any skins that feature the last file played on the home screen as standard?
It seems like a good idea so you can just drop back into whatever you were watching.

I do exactly this in Amber and I am certain that this will work on more skins as well. You need to choose what type of content though (movies/tv episode/music).
Make a smart playlist e.g. for movies and set it to sort last played.
Make the playlist to favourite and add it to home screen.
